Find out moreThe COVID situation in Victoria is changing daily and we continue to introduce new safety measures to ensure you, our valued patients, are protected.
We would like to update you with some important information about your upcoming procedure.
IVF is not impacted by the suspension of elective surgery announced Tuesday 28th July. We are able to continue with all scheduled treatments and procedures as planned and your nursing team will be able to answer any questions you have about your upcoming procedures.
As advised by the DHHS, COVID testing is recommended prior to all elective surgeries and that includes some IVF procedures. We have partnered with Dorevitch Pathology to set up an onsite COVID testing at our East Melbourne clinic for all patients who are scheduled for an egg retrieval.
Starting Monday, 27 July, onsite testing will be open Monday-Friday, 8am-11am and results will be provided within 48 hours. The onsite testing is by appointment only so that we can carefully manage numbers and ensure the fastest turnaround time possible.
Your nursing team will contact you directly and coordinate a COVID test approximately three days before your scheduled procedure. You will receive an information pack which includes a referral form for the COVID test.
The COVID-19 testing is not required for embryo transfer or IUI procedures, unless the procedure is performed under general anaesthetic.
Our onsite COVID testing is here to provide a convenient and safe service for you. Our appointment-only approach will help ensure you aren’t queueing for your test and our partnership with Dorevitch means you will receive results within two days, giving you peace of mind that it’s safe to go ahead with your procedure.
Due to the restrictions on elective surgery announced by the Premier, and in accordance with the DHHS guidelines we are only proceeding with category 1 and urgent category 2 patients.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your specialist directly.
