Dr Samuel Soo

MBBS (Monash) FRANZCOG

After graduating from Monash University in 1997, Samuel trained in obstetrics and gynaecology at Monash Medical Centre and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He completed his Advanced Gynaecological Laparoscopic Fellowship with the Sydney West Advanced Pelvic Surgery unit and was appointed Clinical Superintendent at Westmead Hospital, managing high-risk pregnancies and complicated gynaecological and fertility issues. He completed his IVF and fertility training at Westmead Fertility Centre.

Samuel had a busy practice in Sydney, becoming the first Level 6 (highest Level) Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon at Westmead Hospital before returning to Melbourne IVF. Currently Samuel is senior consultant at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne and at Freemasons, St Vincent's Private and Frances Perry Hospitals. Samuel is one of Australia's leading expert surgeons in FibroidsEndometriosis and Tubal surgery and is currently the training supervisor for advanced laparoscopic surgical fellowship at Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne.

Samuel has earned a reputation as a caring, understanding doctor who goes out of his way to help couples through their fertility journey and pregnancy. He communicates medical matters clearly, often with a little humour. He is also well respected among his colleagues for taking on difficult cases referred from other specialists.

Dr Soo is also able to consult with his patients in Mandarin if preferred.
